The form of exposure to light during the production of architectural renderings
- Aug 02, 2018 -

In architectural renderings, the most commonly used form of receiving light is mainly two: one side receiving light, two sides receiving light.

Single surface receiving light means that there is only one main light source in the scene and the buildings in the scene are not supplemented. It is mainly used to show buildings with narrow side and concise front. In addition, this form of exposure can be applied to bird 's-eye view, which can be used to highlight buildings with shadows and enhance the sense of hierarchy in space. In the expression of outdoor architectural renderings, the use of single exposure to light is very rare, because it is difficult to achieve the true natural lighting effect in this form, but in order to obtain strong contrast and distinct primary and secondary effects, it can be considered.

Two-sided receiving light refers to the scene in which there is a main light source illuminating the front of the building, while there is an auxiliary light source illuminating the side of the building. However, the light intensity of the main light source is mainly used to make the building produce light and shadow changes and layers. This form of exposure to light is most commonly used in outdoor architectural renderings. The setting of main light source should decide according to the actual orientation, season and time of building commonly. The auxiliary light source is opposite to the main light source, which complements the lighting effect of the over-dark part of the building, that is, it plays the role of supplement and correction, illuminating the dead Angle that the main light source does not take into account.
